Equine Extravaganza's Got Talent!

 

Does your horse or dog have a special talent?  Is he or she good enough to be Equine Extravaganza's next star? 

If so, enter our Equine Extravaganza's Got Talent Dog and Pony Contest!
 

Prizes include:

  • Cash prize of $200.00
  • Private training session with movie horse-trainer, Doug Sloan
  • Guest appearance at next year's Equine Extravaganza
  1. Entrants must complete an online entry form, a demo agreement and submit a video of your pet's talent, along with an application fee of $25.00 payable to Equine Extravaganza.
  2. Equine Extravaganza's Got Talent Dog & Pony Talent Contest Rules & Regulations.

  3. All horse and dog owners are welcome to enter the talent show.  Each entrant will have 5 minutes to present their horse or dog’s talent.  The talent is specifically for the horse or dog, not owner, rider or handler.  For example you may display talent in tricks, liberty, Frisbee, agility, dressage, jumping, etc.

  4. Entries are due by October 5th so that the Equine Extravaganza staff has ample time to accept entries before  the expo.

  5. The selected entrants to appear have the option of renting a stall to stay overnight or trailering in for the day.  The cost to rent a stall for the weekend is $175 and the cost to trailer in for the day is $50.  This is in addition to the $25 non-refundable entry fee. (Horses that stay for all three days may also participate in selected clinics free of charge.)

  6. There will be three judges selected to preside over the competition.  The judges will be knowledgeable and professionals in their field – either equine or canine.  The judges will be chosen for neutrality and professionalism.

  7. A prize will be awarded to the winner at the end of the talent competition after all scores have been calculated.   

  8. This competition will be open to all breeds and disciplines.  Handlers or riders must be at least 10 years old and have permission from a parent or guardian. Horses entered in the competition must be at least 2 years old. All judging decisions are final.

  9. All participants must complete an online entry form and download and complete the Demo Agreement and and mail the demo agreement and the entry fee of $25.00 to:

Gracie, talent winner in Equine Extravaganza's 2008 Virginia and North Carolina talent competition. 

Gracie went on to star with Robert Duvall in a movie released this summer, Get Low. 

See Gracie on Sunday!  Gracie will begin the day with an amazing demonstration of talent at 9:30 in the large outdoor arena near the barn, followed by a Mule and Donkey training clinic with Movie Horse Trainer Doug Sloan and Steve Foster, Gracie's owner and trainer. Gracie will also perform throughout the day.
