Raleigh, NC, February
2007: Save the date! Start making plans now to
attend the Carolinas’ 1st Equine Extravaganza®,
an event that is anticipated to be the Carolina’s
biggest horse happening of 2007. The North Carolina
State Fairgrounds in Raleigh will host this all breed,
all discipline horse expo and trade show
on August 3-5, 2007. Much
like its northern counterpart, The Virginia Equine
Extravaganza® to be held October 26-28, 2007 for
the 4th exciting year in Richmond, VA, this
event promises to unite the North and South Carolina
horse community in an event that will cater to their
robust and eager equestrian audience.
Plans are in place for an
action packed three days of everything equestrian,
including over 100 clinics, demonstrations and seminars
with nationally recognized trainers in a wide variety of
disciplines such as dressage, barrel racing, reining,
driving, gaited horses, hunter/jumpers, and more. The
Virginia and Carolina shows promise to showcase a
uniquely different line-up of some of the best horsemen
and horsewomen in the country. “We strive to ensure
that both the Virginia and the Carolinas shows offer
exciting and unique programs for the attendees”, said
DeShane Stamper, program director for Equine
Extravaganza®. “Our goal is to provide an
exciting venue for learning, shopping and lots of fun
for all equestrians, regardless of level or
discipline.”
This year’s inaugural event
starts off with a bang, featuring 2006 Road the Horse
winner Stacy Westfall. Stacy is the only woman to have
won Road to the Horse and the only person to win the
AQHA free style reining competition bridleless AND
saddleless! Stacy will be joined by other renowned
trainers such as Julie Goodnight and international
dressage icon and former US dressage Olympian, Steffen
Peters, eventing legend Jim Wofford and gaited-horse
specialist Nicole Carswell. In addition Tommy Garland,
the 2006 East Coast Trainer Challenge winner, will join
the judging panel in 2007, as well as present several
clinics on horsemanship and Arabian showmanship. The
rousing East Coast Trainer Challenge colt starting
competition will take place each day of the event,
culmination in the presentation of the winner on
Sunday.
This year’s inaugural
Carolina Extravaganza will also feature The Search
for America’s Ultimate Horse Idol, the “American
Idol” of the equine industry. This “talent contest” for
horses is part of a series of seven competitions at
major expos throughout the country in 2007 and will
highlight some of the area’s most talented horses, as
they compete for this coveted title!
Whether you’re replenishing
tack room supplies or shopping for the perfect trailer,
or looking for that perfect first riding outfit
attendees will have to look no further! The Equine
Extravaganza will bring together one of the largest
collections of equestrian vendors and trailer dealers in
the Mid Atlantic region! This major horse happening
will be the one-stop-equine shopping
experience of 2007!
The crowning jewel of the
Equine Extravaganza® will be the Friday and
Saturday evening Equus Extraordinaire, a spectacular
two-hour equestrian production spotlighting horses in a
stage show fashion. Trick riders and horses, fast
-paced, choreographed musical rides, vaulters, celebrity
horses and Nashville sensation Templeton Thompson will
be presented in this action-packed production. Separate
tickets are required and will be available online (www.equineextravaganza.com)
in March. Tickets for the evening show are limited so
don’t be left out!
Applications are being accepted for vendor space and for
breed and stallion exhibitions at both locations, as
well as for clinic riders. Mark your calendars now for
both exciting events and double your expo experience!
