The 2nd Annual Virginia Equine Extravaganza®:  Bigger and Better Than Ever!
In April 2005 Richmond, Virginia will host what promises to be one of the most exciting and comprehensive equine events in the east:  the 2nd annual Virginia Equine Extravaganza, an east coast all breed/all discipline equestrian expo and trade show.  This newsletter is intended to make sure you know exactly what the Extravaganza has in store for you this year. The Virginia horse community as well as the equestrian business community responded to our first event with overwhelming praise.  Many seasoned horse industry vendors hailed last year’s Extravaganza as one of the best first year shows in the industry and 2005’s Extravaganza promises to be even better!
2005 Clinicians:  The Horse Industry's Best
The 2005 Virginia Equine Extravaganza starts out with a blockbuster line-up.  Horse industry icons John Lyons and Richard Shrake will be joined by some of the best trainers in the country, including acclaimed eventer Stephen Bradley, renowned hunter trainer Tommy Serio, Equine Extremist and dare devil Tommie Turvey, Jr., Dressage USDF Gold, Silver and Bronze Metal recipient, Mari Monda Zdunic, gaited horse authority Bobby Richards (sponsored by TWHBEA), former British National Combined Driving Champion Paul Maye and champion western rider, trainer and judge Bob Sneed, plus many more for a true all-breed/all-discipline expo!  Bob Jeffreys and Suzanne Sheppard will help new or returning riders deal with rider anxieties (and your horse's anxieties, too!).  Jan Snodgrass will share her expertise in the TTEAM-Linda Tellington-Jones’ revolutionary method of training and healing horses, as well as perform a bridleless jumping exhibition on her Cleveland Bay, Harry WhoAnne Moss, USDF Dressage Silver and Bronze medalist riding side saddle) will perform a musical freestyle side saddle!  BJ Hartmann will give tips on grooming for your horse's health using massage and acupressure.  Ross Falisi will provide tips on how to help your horse develop a more cooperative attitude. Debi Metcalfe will give tips on how to protect your horse against theft.  And so much more!!  See our Web site for a complete list of clinicians and presenters.
AAEP Seminar Series: Our Educational Partner

The Extravaganza is pleased to announce it's educational partnership with AAEP in the presentation of the acclaimed AAEP Seminar Series.  You'll hear from many of the industry’s leading equine practitioners as they discuss the latest research in joint disease, stem-cell therapy, reproduction and much more.  We will welcome Dr. Robert Harman, DVM, Dr. James Casey, DVM and Dr. Bill Ley, DVM, along with many others.  The Extravaganza's extensive seminar series will also include topics on equestrian basics such as saddle fitting, equine legal issues, barn and facility design, pasture management, nutrition and supplements, synthetic shoes, equestrian business savvy, and instructor essentials.

Rare Breeds on Parade

This year the Virginia Equine Extravaganza will double its breed parade component and include an exciting and inspiring Rare Breed Demonstration.  Both our classic and rare breed demos will allow the audience to see the depth and diversity of each unique breed, some in traditional costume and many to music.  The Rare Breed Demonstrations will allow the attendees to glimpse breeds that are not only rare, but actually endangered .  The Rare Breed Exhibit will give Extravaganza visitors a chance to interact with these precious members of the equine population and to learn more about each individual breed. Great Shopping!

Attendees at the 2005 Extravaganza will again experience some of the best equestrian shopping in the east with 100s of exciting horse industry vendors representing virtually every horse product known to man!  From specialty products such as trailer and barn camera systems, to farm basics such as barns, stalls, fencing, arenas and farm equipment, to daily essentials such as tack, apparel, grooming supplies, feed, supplements, and show accessories you’ll find it at the Extravaganza.  Whether you’re looking for those hard to find products or the best deals on daily basics, the shopping alone is worth the trip.  You’ll have the chance to talk to the product experts and find answers to those confusing questions that plague all horse owners at one time or another.  Regardless of what you are looking for, start saving  for this shopping extravaganza!

Trailer Shopping Extravaganza

2004’s trailer shopping experience was such a hit with attendees that this year’s event will include, by popular demand, a Trailer Shopping Extravaganza featuring the biggest selection of horse trailers in one place this side of QH Congress!  Trailer shopping can be a long and laborious process, often requiring hours of traveling in all directions in order to see all of the possible trailers from which to choose.  Problem solved!  At the 2005 Virginia Equine Extravaganza Virginia and Mid-Atlantic trailer dealers will assemble a huge selection of trailers for your shopping convenience.  If trailer shopping on your to-do list, mark your calendar for April 22, 2005 and get it done in one weekend!

The Great Saddle Give-Away!

Every attendee at the Extravaganza can enter our drawing for a chance to win one of 10 saddles to be given away over the three days of the event.  Each attendee will be given a ticket for the Extravaganza saddle give-away when they arrive.  Saddles will be given away all day, every day, culminating in the grand prize give-away on Sunday afternoon of an incredibly comfortable Ortho-flex saddle package valued at over $5000!

Equus Extraordinaire: A Musical Equine Cabaret

Also returning is Equus Extraordinaire, the highly-praised evening show, which features a stunning equine musical cabaret and an exciting combination of speed, thrills, elegance and laughter.  This spell-binding equestrian stage show production will feature the amazing and comical Tommie Turvey, Jr., the magnificent Mt.
