About Bobby:
Bobby Plough
Bobby
Plough was raised in Corpus Christi on the coast of South Texas and now
lives in coastal North Carolina. He grew up listening to the stories of
Texas singer songwriters with a healthy dose of Tex-Mex music thrown in.
Although a fan of acoustic rock of the early 70s, he was always drawn back
to the Texas country sound. Willie Nelson, Guy Clark, Shake Russell, Townes
Van Zandt, and Steve Earle were among his early favorites as songwriters and
performers. He also was a fan of North Carolina artists like Doc Watson,
Earl Scruggs, and James Taylor. His love of the outdoors and nature has
always drawn him to the country life whether it is by the ocean, mountains,
or woodlands. His music is a mix of Country, Folk, and Americana with a
little shot of Tex-Mex.
The stories he likes to tell in his songs cover a
broad range of subjects. They include his many interests and outdoor
activities. The fact that he is an avid horseman and loves to ride pops up
in his songs all the time.
He also has a lifelong love of the ocean and
surfing. He still travels to remote areas of Central America to find some
peace and the perfect wave. The song “Barn Full of Memories” was written on
the beach in El Salvador. After playing solo and in small cover bands for
many years, he took an interest in writing and performing his own music. He
had reached a point in his life that he felt that his life experiences and
observations would make great stories for songs.
